Breclav

A day trip to Breclav on 29 July 2011. Because of its location close to the borders with Slovakia and Austria many locos from ZSSK and OBB appear alongside the normal fare of CD locos and several private operators from all three countries.

  • Part of the parade of locos outside the depot at Breclav - a well-worn CD 230-106 waits for its next duty
  • CD 230-105 has a nice bright coat of new paint as it sits in the depot sidings
  • 720-114 is probably a privately owned locomotive but it has no immediate identification features apart from a marking on the cab for 'Posázavský Pacifik' which appears to be a preservation line in the Prague area. Maybe it is lost?

  • CD 742-320 sits outside the roundhouse

  • Three Dispolok locos were present at Breclav. This shot shows ES64 F4-153
  • A broadside shot of Dispolok ES64 F4-152 - the locos appear to work car trains from Poland via Bohumin to Breclav (as I have seen on a recent trip to Ostava) and then wait for empty workings back to Poland

  • OBB 1116-162 rattles through the station with a freight bound for the large marshalling yards north of the station
  • OBB 1216-239 arrives from Austria with EC172, the 05:26 from Villach to Berlin
  • ZS 350-004 heads away from the station and the curve to Slovakia with EC275, the 07:39 from Praha Hlavni Nadrazi to Bratislava Hlavni Stanica
  • OBB 1116_155 sits in the platform with the stock for R2337 12:25 to Wiener Neustadt
  • OBB 1116.014 brings a train from the yards through the station on its way to Austria
