Double Your Skoda!

One of the main aims of the 2008 trip was to hunt down the two double-electric loco classes. The 131 class roam all across the northern main line while the broad gauge locos in the 125 class are concentrated near Kosice in the far east of the country.

  • ZS Cargo 131.070 + 131.069 run light engine through Zilina as they head east to pick up another freight service on 27 June 2008
  • The first of one of the target classes to come in front of the camera - a 'double Skoda'. ZS 131.004 and 131.003 head east with a freight late in the afternoon on 26 June 2008 on their regular Zilina to Kosice stamping ground
  • With a long and heavy train of coal for the US Steel plant near Kosice ZS Cargo 131.014 and 131.013 are seen passing through Liptovsky Mikulas on 27 June 2008
  • ZS Cargo 131.056 and 131.055 head west through Liptovsky Mikulas on 27 June 2008 with a mixed freight including new built wagons for operators in Holland and Germany
  • Sat at the top of the yard of Haniska pri Kosiciac depot and looking as if they had not worked for a while and are (possibly) next in line for major overhaul were ZS Cargo 125.813 + 125.814 on 30 June 2008
  • ZS Cargo 131.016 and 131.015 head uphill through Vychodna with a long mixed freight service on 27 June 2008
  • Running through Vychodna on 27 June 2008 are 'double Skoda' ZS Cargo 131.089 and 131.090
