Ten o'clock in the morning of 16 July 1998 and the engineer of BNSF C44-9W 737 is about to call for the cavalry in the shape of a pair of helper engines from the tunnel mouth at Moffat. BNSF SD70M 8220 is already shut down and Santa Fe C40-8W 930 isn't sounding too good as the train stuggles through Tolland on its ascent to Moffat Tunnel with a trackage rights train on the former D&RGW line through the Rockies.
